With TKE, your son can achieve his personal best. For more than one hundred years, young men on college campuses have sought out membership in fraternities. Each fraternity promotes a set of ideals that are to be held true by its members throughout their lives. While these ideals usually difer from fraternity to fraternity, most provide an environment where young men are encouraged to develop strong skills for academics, leadership, organization, personal growth, and involvement in community service, the attribues that help build success througout life.

While no two fraternities are exactly alike, each offers a young man a place to be accepted
and belong  a place to fit in on campus. Fraternity brothers are lifetime friends, colleagues,

TKE men are given six challenges: scholarship, participation, developing an understanding of TKE history, developing an understanding of chapter operations, becoming a "frater" (brother), and understanding and practicing the ideals and principles of charity, esteem, and love.   By assessing his own personal goals, a Teke also is challenged to determine how those will be achieved -- by both giving his time to, and using the resources of, his chapter. Every duty a Teke performs within his chapter will contribute to his character and future success.

Tau Kappa Epsilon is the largest international college fraternity, with more than 300 chapters and colonies in the U.S. and Canada. Its current memberhisp and alumni number over 200,000.

       Less than 1.5 percent of the average college man's expenses go for fraternitiy dues.

Tau Kappa Epsilon is Safe and Affordable

As a parent, you likely are interested in what the fraternity environment is like and how much your son's membership in Tau Kappa Epsilon will cost. Joining TKE is safe and affordable. All forms of hazing are strictly forbidden by TKE, and offenses are punishable by TKE.

TKE has a comprehensive risk management policy and a $1,000,000 liability insurance program. Each chapter has an alumni advisory board who helps ensure the safety of all TKE

Founded more than a century ago, Tau Kappa Epsilon considers men "not for wealth, rank, or honor; but for personal worth and character." TKE includes a very diverse membership, and is the largest college fraternity in the world, with locations at more then 270 colleges and universities across the United States and Canada.

Since 1899, more than 226,000 men have accepted the challenge of membership in Tau Kappa Epsilon. They are men of sterling character who have become leaders in the business and community.

TKE expects serious attention to academic performance. A strong academic record not only prepares a student for success after graduation, but it represents strength of mind to the world. TKE helps our members excel in their academic life and helps them graduate.

TKE offers young men the opportunity to develop as leaders and prepares them to use those leadership skills throughout their lifetime. Tekes are encouraged to take and active leadership role in community, campus, and chapter activities. Studies show that 46% of U.S. senators and 31% of U.S. representatives are fraternity or sorority members.

TKE is committed to instilling a sense of responsibility and contribution in all of our members. The Fraternity encourages members to provide service to their campus and community through national philanthropic activities. Fraternities and sororities contribute countless hours and raise millions of dollars for charitable organizations around the world.

In Tau Kappa Epsilon more than 226,000 men have established solid friendships that last a lifetime. Tekes around the world act as a network of friends, which can be beneficial, both personally and professionally. Stated in our Declaration of Principles, "We believe that the essential elements of true brotherhood are love, charity, and esteem."

The Theta-Chi Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Frostburg State University was installed as a chapter on April 6, 1962.

Since 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon has never had an exclusionary clause for membership. TKE does not judge men on their wealth, rank or honor, but instead on their personal worth and character.
